Cardano Founder Addresses Liquidity Concerns Over eToro Delisting

Panic had washed over the Cardano community after news broke that midsize exchange eToro would be delisting the token, alongside Tron. The announcement came as a surprise and users milled onto social media to try to get explanations after receiving the email alerts. eToro had not given much of an explanation besides regulatory concerns which did not do much to quell the panic.

Many had worried that the delisting was a result of low liquidity. Given this, there had been the need for some clarification. Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson took to Twitter to address these concerns, assuring investors that liquidity had nothing to do with the delisting and soothing nerves.

Hoskinson Addresses Community

Hoskinson started out by explaining that he actually had no idea about the delisting because IOG, the developer arm which is mostly involved with, did not handle listings. In the 13-minute video posted to Twitter, he clarified that there were actually no liquidity problems with Cardano, which was not a factor in the delisting.

Turning to the regulatory concerns, the Cardano founder addressed the current global regulatory climate around crypto and pointed out that the consequences of this were “a systemic lack of clarity. Since there are no global regulatory standards, then usually, it is up to countries, states, and even organizations on how they handle matters concerning cryptocurrencies.

Japan, for one, possesses some of the strictest cryptocurrency laws and regulations when it comes to crypto. However, ADA had been successfully trading in the region for months now without a problem. Also as more exchanges in the region had picked up the digital asset, liquidity had gone up. There is also adequate liquidity in the U.S., the founder says, which points to it not being a problem.

“The best you can do in these things is navigate this on a case by case basis, on an exchange by exchange basis.”

Good News For Cardano

After the news of the eToro delisting had hit the market, the price of ADA had immediately suffered the harmful impacts that an announcement like this could have. Cardano which had been suffering greatly in the market had dropped to a three-month low when it hit $1.67.

In his video, Hoskinson had pointed out that although the digital asset was being delisted from eToro, it was being listed on another exchange. Bitstamp had announced that it was listing the digital asset, a considerably larger exchange by volumed compared to eToro.

There is no telling what effect a listing like this might have on the asset going forward. However, it comes at a time where the community is looking for a light at the end of the tunnel of bad news.

As for eToro, Hoskinson revealed that the Cardano team had no idea of the delisting. “On our side, we had no indication of this from eToro and it’s rather unfortunate that nothing was sent our way,” said the founder. “We at least could have better understood their reasons,” he added.

Cardano (ADA) Set To Begin Trading On Bitstamp On Wednesday

Cardano (ADA) is set to debut on top cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp. The altcoin has not had a good run of it lately but things seem to be looking up for the project. After smart contract capability had been deployed on the network, expectations had swelled for the possible growth of the digital asset. Now, while the technology has lived up to expectations, ADA has not.

The token had suffered greatly in the market after hitting a new all-time high. It has proved resistant to strides being made in its underlying technology and has not seen much in the way of positive movement since then. This new listing may be able to give the digital asset a much-needed push towards a recovery trend.

Cardano Lists On Bitstamp

Top cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp announced that it is listing Cardano on its exchange. The listing took place in four parts. First was the transfer-only mode. This mode was released on Tuesday and would allow users to deposit and withdraw ADA using their Bitstamp wallets but will still be unable to trade the digital asset.

Wednesday marks the complete listing of the token on the exchange. However, this will be split into three parts that will go into effect at different times of the day.

The second phase of the listing is the post-only mode. In this mode, users of Bistamp will be able to place and cancel limit orders using the digital asset but none of these orders will be matched. This means that no Cardano limit orders will be completed on the exchange during this time. This will go into effect at 11:00 AM UTC.

Next is the limit-only mode which goes live at 3:00 PM UTC. This time around, all of the limit orders placed using ADA on the crypto exchange will be executed. But users will still be limited to trading through limit orders.

The final phase of the listing is full trading. This is to give the order books enough time to gather sufficient liquidity and once it does so, all orders will be executed normally and Bitstamp will enable card purchases for the newly released trading pairs.

ADA Struggling In The Market

Compared to its peers in the market, Cardano (ADA) has fared considerably worse than others in recent weeks. This, however, does not take away from the fact that the digital asset has done very well year-over-year. ADA which had been trading at less than $0.20 at the beginning of the year had risen to an ATH above $3 this year, posting massive gains for its investors.

The asset price has since fallen back below $2 but listing on Bitstamp could lead to some upward momentum for ADA, especially following eToro announcing that it would be officially delisting Cardano (ADA) from its exchange next month.

Cardano (ADA) Receives Approval To Be Listed In Japan

Cardano (ADA) has recently secured another win in its long repertoire of wins lately. The native coin of Cardano, ADA, has now been approved to be listed in Japan, which features one of the hardest listing requirements in the world. Only a handful of coins have been able to receive approval to be listed on exchanges in Japan, and ADA just became one of them.

Japan has always been crypto-friendly right from the beginning. But that does not mean they have lax laws when it comes to cryptocurrencies. The coins that are listed on exchanges in Japan are carefully screened to make sure that they are good projects for its citizens. This means ADA getting approved makes the coin even more valuable now.

Sebastien Guillemot, CTO and Co-Founder of dcSpark made the announcement on his Twitter profile, outlining that Japan has extremely strict rules for getting listed on crypto exchanges.

A Very Important Listing

Listings like these do not happen all the time. Cardano (ADA) now joins the likes of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin to be amongst coins allowed to be traded on Japanese exchanges. The importance of this listing cannot be overemphasized in the growth of Cardano (ADA) going forward.

Guillemot went on to add another tweet that compared the approval in Japan to the listing of the digital asset on Coinbase back in March for the Japanese crypto community. Because while the listing on Coinbase was big news for the rest of the market, Japanese users were still mostly cut off from it. Owing to the strict regulations around cryptocurrencies in the country.

Although the Cardano ICO had taken place mostly in Japan back in 2015, the asset never got listed on any Japanese exchange, until now. This opens access to Cardano (ADA) to a wider customer base who were previously cut off from the market. The listing will allow investors in Japan to finally buy into Cardano (ADA) using exchanges in their own country.

Cardano (ADA) Price Reaction

The news of the listing has not provided any significant boost to the price of Cardano (ADA) so far. Coin price continues to trend around $1.35, not showing much improvement over the last 24 hours following news of the listing breaking.
